A. General Student Admission Policy

STI WEST NEGROS UNIVERSITY welcomes students with sincere desire to be educated and to abide its policies, rules and regulations (as written in this student handbook) regardless of their nationality, beliefs, gender, regional affiliation, and social stratum for as long as they suffice the requirements for admission set forth by the Commission on Higher Education.

B. General Admission Requirements

New Students

  • SHS Official Form 138 (SHS Report Card) signed by the Principal and marked “Graduated/Eligible for admission to College”
  • SHS Certificate of Completion (SHS Diploma)
  • SHS Official Form 137-A (Original Permanent Record)
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character (from the Principal/Administrator/Guidance Counselor of the previous SHS
  • Photocopy of Birth Certificate from the Philippine Statistics Authority
  • Two copies 2”x2” recent colored pictures with collar and white background.
  • Entrance Test Result from the Guidance Services Center

Transferees

  • Certificate of Transfer (Honorable Dismissal)
  • Original and photocopy of Transcript of Records (Photocopy for evaluation)
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character from previous School
  • Photocopy of Birth Certificate from the Philippine Statistics Authority
  • Two copies of 2”x2” recent colored pictures with collar and white background.
  • Entrance Test Result from the Guidance Services
  • Recommendation from the Dean

Old/Continuing Students

  • Institutional and/or departmental clearance must be obtained.
  • Photocopy of Evaluation Sheet

Teacher Certificate Program (TCP) Students

  • Undergraduate Degree Diploma
  • Certificate of Transfer (Honorable Dismissal)
  • Original and photocopy of Transcript of Records (Photocopy for evaluation)
  • Photocopy of Birth Certificate from the Philippine Statistics Authority
  • Two copies of 2”x2” recent colored pictures with collar and white background.

Foreign Students

Students from foreign institutions of learning may be admitted upon compliance with all the admission requirements and evaluation of their records by the Office of the University Registrar in coordination with the Office of the Dean:

  • Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR)
  • Student Visa and Special Study Permit from the Bureau of Immigration
  • Five (5) copies of the Student’s Personal History Statement (PHS) containing among others, his/her left and right thumb prints and a 2”x2” photograph on plain white shirt background not more than six (6) months prior to submission.
  • Transcript of Records/Scholastic Records duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post (PFSP) located in the student-applicant’s country of origin or legal residence
  • Notarized Affidavit of Support including bank statements or notarized grant for institutional scholars
  • Photocopy of the student’s passport showing date and place of birth and birth certificate or its equivalent duly authenticated by the PFSP
  • Medical Certificate
  • Student Visa and Special Study Permit (SSP) from the Bureau of Immigration shall not be required of the spouses and unmarried dependent children below 21 years old of aliens under the following categories:

  • Permanent Foreign Residents
  • Aliens with valid working permits under Section 9(d), 9(g), and 42(a)(2) of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940, as amended
  • Personnel of foreign diplomatic and consular missions residing in the Philippines and their dependents
  • Personnel of duly accredited international organizations residing in the Philippines and their dependents
  • Holders of Special Investor’s Resident Visa (SIRV) and Special Retiree’s Resident Visa (SRRV)
  • Foreign students coming to the Philippines with 47(a)(2) visas issued pursuant to existing laws, eg. PD2021
C. SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS WITH BOARD EXAMINATION

Must have a Senior High School General Grade Average of 80%.

  • Bachelor of Secondary Education

    - Teacher Certificate Program

Bachelor of Science in Criminology

  • Police Clearance (If enrollee has criminal record, he/she has to submit Certificate of None Filing of Criminal Case and Court Clearance)
  • Height requirement for male student is 5’4” and 5’2” for female students. (Per PNP, BJMP, BFP requirements)
  • Physical Examination to ensure that enrollee has no physical deformity; undergone major surgery; and tattoo. (Per PNP, BJMP & BFP requirements)
  • A student who falls short of the requirements by the PNP, BJMP, and BFP but insists enrollment is required to sign a note below his application for admission that such requirements has been discussed with him/her by the Dean or the College Enrolment Officer prior to enrolment.
  • (Transferees) Passed 80% of the total subjects enrolled in the previous institution.

Bachelor of Secondary Education

  • (Transferees and Shiftees) A grade of at least 85% in all Professional Subjects enrolled in the previous institution.

Bachelor of Elementary Education

  • (Transferees and Shiftees) A grade of at least 85% in all Professional Subjects enrolled in the previous institution.

Bachelor of Early Childhood Education

  • (Transferees and Shiftees) A grade of at least 85% in all Professional Subjects enrolled in the previous institution.

Bachelor of Physical Education

  • (Transferees and Shiftees) A grade of at least 85% in all Professional Subjects enrolled in the previous institution.

Bachelor of Science in Psychology

  • (Transferees) Passed 75% of the total subjects enrolled in the previous institution;
  • (Shiftees) Passed 50% of the subjects enrolled at STI WNU.

Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering

  • Average grade of at least 80% in Math and Science
  • (Transferees) Passed at least 50% of the subjects enrolled during the last term in the previous institutions.

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

  • Average grade of at least 80% in Math and Science
  • (Transferees) Passed at least 50% of the subjects enrolled during the last term in the previous institutions.

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

  • Average grade of at least 80% in Math and Science
  • (Transferees) Passed at least 50% of the subjects enrolled during the last term in the previous institutions.

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

  • Average grade of at least 80% in Math and Science
  • (Transferees) Passed at least 50% of the subjects enrolled during the last term in the previous institutions.

Bachelor of Science in Chemical Electronics

  • Average grade of at least 80% in Math and Science
  • (Transferees) Passed at least 50% of the subjects enrolled during the last term in the previous institutions.

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

  • Average grade of at least 80% in Math and Science
  • (Transferees) Passed at least 50% of the subjects enrolled during the last term in the previous institutions.

Bachelor of Science in Accountancy

  • (New Students) Interview with Program Head
  • (Transferees) Only First to Third Year students from other institutions are considered for enrolment in the program provided that they are able to meet the grade requirements.
  • (Transferees) Non-accountancy students may be allowed to shift to the program, provided that they must comply with all the requirements of a new student.
  • (Cross-Enrollees) STI WNU students enrolled in the program are not allowed to cross-enroll to other schools especially on professional subjects offered by STI WNU. However, accountancy students from other schools may be allowed to cross-enroll at STI WNU.

D. Code of Conduct for Student Admission

Students seeking admission/re-admission to STI West Negros University must prove themselves to be innocent from the following demeanors otherwise the university may waived its right to deny admission:

  • Convicted by duly constituted authorities to have engaged in illicit trades such as, but not limited to, prostitution; illegal sale, use and abuse of prohibited drugs; illegal gambling; theft; robbery and other criminal an civil liabilities in court.
  • Proven to have serious psychiatric case.
  • Penalized by other institutions for suspension, exclusion, and expulsion.
  • Proven to be engaged in radical student activism creating chaos in the campus; terrorism; rebellion; and any activity to overthrow the constitutional government.
  • Proven to have a previous case and/or pending case with the Disciplinary Board.

When a misdemeanor is discovered after the student has been admitted, the school reserves the right to terminate/ cancel enrolment.The University Admission Officer or the Dean may require the student to present other appropriate document(s) considered necessary for the student’s consideration for admission/re-admission.

The University reserves the right to accept or deny admission to any student who does not meet the Code of Conduct.

Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
